Easy walking distance from the station and water bus, the room was large, clean
-
Location was HISTORIC, near to where we needed to be. Plenty of cafes and restaurants in the area.
-
The hotel was situated in a quieter, though still conveniently located part of Venice. Our room was spacious and with lovely views of the canal. Plentiful buffet breakfast and extremely friendly staff.
-
Front desk spoke English well; room was more spacious than we anticipated; was fairly close to train station; wasn't too difficult to find (with a GPS system) - just look for the metal sun logo above the door.
Double bed was two firm twins (but I hear that's pretty common).

Hotel Al Sole's location was really great. Close to the bus station and people mover (only two bridges to cross and they were small ones) and away from the busy part of Venice. There were plenty of small good restaurants and bar close by as well. I would really recommend the Garden Rooms as they were larger than the Canal Rooms (and cheaper). There is a sitting area on the second floor as well.
Breakfast, although adequate, could have had a bit more selection, eg cereals and breads.
-
Helpful staff, easily reached from train station and bus station, quiet location but near resturants, shops and all sights within walking distance, also some rooms have canal view.
-
Nice hotel. Great location, only 5 minutes walk from Piazzale Roma. Quiet and relaxing atmosphere near around. Really agreeable to have breakfast in the garden. The only disapointing matter is the refrigerator which did not work at all. No improvement despite repeated request during our stay of 3 days.

Convinient location: close to the main parking and vaporetto-boat station, not on the main crowded touristic routes. Comfortable room with tea&coffee facilities, nice view on the canal. Beautiful historic lobby with a pretty garden, which can be used for breakfast. Tempting smell of freshly baked croissants in the morning...
No free Internet in the room.

It was a perfect location for all the sights in Venice. The staff were extremely good, and spoke good English. Excellent buffet breakfast, three different types of croissants! Fantastic. Easy to get to the vaporetto, both ends of the Grand Canal. Though the room did not come with a tea/coffee tray, the staff kindly found one and put it in the room. So very good service. Thank you.
I was sorry that there was no English TV channel. Every day it was going to be fixed tomorrow! But maybe it has been fixed by now. I think there is a serious need for most travellers to know what is going on in the world whilst staying there.

Superb location 5 minutes bus/rail station yet far enough away to be secluded and quiet. South facing room overlooking canal and good breakfast
Room was high ceilinged and lacked any intimate decoration hiding air conditioning units etc .,making it a bit bleak. Smell of drains in toilet/bathroom.
-
Lovely room over looking the canal. Aqua Alta made it a genuine Venetian experience.
-
located on a canal away from the crowds but easy walking distance to main parts of Venice

The staff were very helpful and polite - they could not do enough for you. The room was clean, bright and modern and was a good size for Venice, given that many rooms in the City can be quite small for the price that you have to pay for a 3 * Hotel and above. It is well located in the Santa Croce area has a a lovely garden area but despite its central location is very quiet so perfect for a good nights sleep. If I return to Venice I will stay here again.
Only problem was that on arrival there was a mix up with our room and we had to stay one night in a lower standard room than the room we had booked. However, it was quickly sorted out and we were properly compensated for the inconvenience.
-
The location was just what we wanted - close to all the sights but in a peaceful part of Venice. The staff were very friendly. The breakfast was average.
Like all hotels in Venice, Al Sole was overpriced for the offering. Our room was large but basic and not welcoming, the bed was hard but at least a good size.

From the moment you walked through the door, you was greeted with a smile and very friendly staff. Hotel was very beautifully restored and decorated very tastefully. Very clean and comfortable.
